Pastor Luke’s 10th work anniversary
We recognize Pastor Luke Cheng for 10 years of faithful service to our Mandarin congregation…
We gratefully acknowledge the 10th work anniversary of Pastor Luke Cheng, our Mandarin Pastor, who began serving at ETCBC on August 4, 2015. For the past decade, Pastor Luke has faithfully ministered to our Mandarin congregation with dedication, humility, and a heart for God.
We thank God for his ongoing service and pray for continued wisdom and strength in the years ahead.
Thinking about membership?
Ready to make ETCBC your official church home? Take the next step in membership today…
Have you been attending ETCBC for a while and consider this your church home? As we move forward with incorporation (more updates at the upcoming quarterly members meeting), we invite you to take a meaningful step: transfer your membership and make a public declaration of your commitment to this church family.
In a time when convenience often takes priority, we believe structure and formality still matter—especially now. Membership isn’t just a name on a list; it’s saying, “I’m in. I belong.” It’s about walking together in covenant, supporting one another, and following Jesus as one body.
If ETCBC is your spiritual home, make it official. Membership gives you a voice in shaping our future and reflects your desire to be fully engaged. Let’s move forward together!
What we need from applicants:
1. A completed membership form (PDF)
2. A soft copy of your photo for the in-person QMM slide deck (this will not be published anywhere else)
3. EITHER two reference letters (PDF) from current ETCBC members OR one reference letter from the pastor of your former home church.
Please submit your application to any of the deacons (db@etcbc.org), pastors, or the church office (office@etcbc.org) by August 10. You will then be contacted for an interview with a deacon or pastor.
Fridge clean-out by Aug 3
We will be cleaning out the fridges and discarding any unclaimed foods...
The church refrigerators will be cleaned out during the week of August 4 to make space for Kidscamp. Any unmarked or unclaimed foods will be thrown away. If you have any food in the fridge you wish to keep, please claim it before Sunday, August 3.

2025 ETCBC Kidscamp is coming soon, and we're seeking incredible adult volunteers to help create an unforgettable experience for our campers. We especially need assistance with organizing snacks for the kids and preparing lunches for our hard-working volunteers. Ready to make a difference? Please submit your form by Sunday, July 27.
Building security reminders
The Executive Board would like to remind everyone…
The Executive Board would like to remind everyone:
If using the church outside normal hours, individuals must check if they’re the last to leave. If so, they are responsible for locking up and arming the alarm.
If they don’t have a key (e.g., key holder left), they must stay and contact their ministry leader.
If another group is still present, they must inform them and ensure they can lock up.
Let’s all do our part to keep the building secure.
Volunteer with CBS at Taste of Lawrence!
We are recruiting volunteers to partner up with our next-door neighbour, Canadian Bible Society, for Taste of Lawrence...
For years, our church has served compassionately in our neighbourhood. Now, we have the opportunity to come alongside our neighbour Canadian Bible Society at Taste of Lawrence, July 4 – 6, and share God’s Word more openly. Whether you're helping set up, greeting booth visitors, or supporting Scripture sales, your presence can shine His light in meaningful ways.
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." – Matthew 5:16
Shifts are flexible. Sign up by emailing Natalie at nglavovic@biblesociety.ca.
